House update

Our house is starting to take shape. Last Tuesday when we drove by it, it was just a stack of wood and concrete. They've done a lot in just one week. Here's some pics of the front, back, and our building.

Randomness

Here's a random post for you. If you know anything about me, you know I looooooove Jack Johnson. He's in my car with me all the time that it drives Ryan to a point where he can't stand to listen to Jack. I'm not that kind of girl that loves celebrities but I do love me some Jack Johnson. So this is my Jack Johnson tribute.

Go listen to one of his many great songs, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVmbGsEtmFI
By the way he's playing in B-more on August 9th. Want to go.

A true friend.

This is for a close friend of mine, Gillie. She is awesome. So I've been looking for another part-time job and haven't had much luck. Gillie e-mails me links to jobs for me and she told me to give her my resume and she'll see if they have any positions open in her company. This is the e-mail I recieved from her today.
So I sent your resume over to HR and...you might want to kill me for this, I also sent her a YouTube clip of you doing the announcements for the church. :-) I'm friends with her so I felt comfortable doing it, and she loved you! Her response was "I'm very imrpessed!" You should be getting a call! I think they're looking for a part time sales assistant for our new in house sales team and she said she thought you'd be great.
See you tonight!
Gillie, I just want you to know that you are an awesome person and a wonderful friend. Nobody had to go that extra mile to help me out but you did and I greatly appreciate it.

The house

Here's our house so far....

For those who don't know, Ry and I bought a new townhome and they've started construction. We are so excited about getting in our new home. So we're hoping this summer it'll be finished. Pray that it'll be done by July 31st cuz that's when our lease is up for the apartment. So as of now our house is a slab of concrete with a pile of wood..hey, at least it's progress. =)

The Spanish Channel.

Ok...so last night Ry and I were flipping through the channels to find something to watch. By the way we only have channels 2-22 so it is easy not to find anything on tv. Well as I was flipping through, I stopped on the Spanish channel. Something intrigued me about the guy in his Mexican suit and huge sombrero. So I asked Ryan if he would dance with me to the Spanish music. We did just that and after the song was over we realized that the show was a Mexican version of American Idol. We decided to watch it. Ryan and I know a little Spanish so we were able to pick up on some things. (Here's a funny fact real quick...when Ry and I were dating we had a conversation about taking Spanish class in high school and I was like 'I've taken 3 years of Spanish' and then Ryan says to me 'Me too.....3 years of Spanish 1.') So with his 3 years of taking Spanish 1 over and over and me with Spanish 1, 2, and 3, we were able to pick out some things they were saying.
Well the great thing about Idolos de la Cancion is that every singer has some sort of scene with dancers in the background. I tried to find the video of one of the craziest one I saw on youtube but was unsuccessful. It was like this slow pretty song with chicks dress up from the 70's dancing. It was great. Anyways, if you're ever bored and see that Idolos de la Cancion is on the Spanish channel, I highly suggest it.

Here's the guy Ry and I danced to last night...so grab your man or woman and dance to the Spanish music.

Crazy

This is how I spent my afternoon after church and the feeding program.
My husband wanted to know what it's like to hold yourself up with your head.
Sorry I don't have video editor so just tilt your head and enjoy what things are like when you live with Ryan Jackson.

Serve.

As some of you may know and some may not know that my church, Bayshore and our college and career ministry, Kainos, has a very simple vision. They just simply want to see people connect to God, connect to others, and serve our community.

Today I had a great opportunity to serve our community with others from Kainos. We went and feed the homeless in Salisbury. I've done this twice before and it's just such a blessing to serve others. Jesus said to his apostles in Luke 22:27, "Who is more important: the one sitting at the table or the one serving? You think the one at the table is more important, but I am like a servant among you." As Christians we strive to be like Christ and show Christ-like character. It is such a blessing to belong to a church who serves. There are people who go out every Sunday after church to feed the homeless and needy. It's so amazing to see the people lined up down the street waiting for the van to come so they can eat. And on the other hand, it so amazing to see others spending their time serving others. God has given us many blessings. Be thankful for what you have. Love God and Love people. Serve.

Here's some pictures of our crew today.

Sleep

Sometimes...sleeping in is an awesome thing. I didn't get out of bed til 11:40 this morning. That is not like me at all. I gotta get up at 6am for work every morning and usually my sleeping in days consists of getting up at 8am. So I apparently was tired and now very refreshed.
